Defining moments of the decade

Inspired by the MSN front page of yesterday, what are your defining moments of the first decade of the noughties? They can be good/bad/personal or more general. Off the top of my head my list would have to include -
9/11
The Boxing Day tsunami
The London bombings of 7 July
and on a personal level
me getting my degree!
Oh and just a thought. We called the first deade of the 2000s the 'noughties', so what do we call the 2010s?
