The larger font is a welcome addition. May I suggest a few more changes:
>Devise a method to separate the posts. Right now it is almost impossible to see where one response ends and the next begins.
>Lighten up the background somewhat. The black is indeed very 'space' oriented, but it is too unrelenting in this setting. Even a slightly lighter shade would help.
>Identify the author of each post with a larger font or by setting that information apart, or perhaps both. I dislike having to hunt to see who is writing what. Not everyone uses avatars, and even if they do, some change those frequently.
>Did you mean to lock your threads in the section 'Command Centre'? There is currently no way to directly respond to you there.
Regards.

Re: Suggestions
I would also like to suggest some new fora, as well. Miscellaneous would be one spot, for discussing real-world and maybe goofy/relaxing stuff.

Re: Suggestions
Is there a way to set things so our email boxes aren't inundated with updates concerning replies to our postings? I'll come here to check, I do not need these constant alerts.

Re: Suggestions
Thanks for your suggestions, I'm working on them now so hopefully will get things sorted soon. Yes, I know what you mean about the email updates regarding replies (they are a pain) and I'll sort this out too.
Re: Suggestions
Thanks. The in-box does get a tad overwhelmed.

Re: Suggestions
I think the new changes look great!
One little thing though - could we add the ":" into the title Space: 1999?
Thanks!

Re: Suggestions
Much improved! The lighter colors are much easier on the eyes, and separating the posts makes following the discussion much better. I am also partial to having the avatar and name on the left as you have now done.
As Robert points out, adding the ':' is important. It is as much as part of the name as the rest.

Re: Suggestions
The alternating colors for the postings are very easy on the eyes. Jeanine, you are doing a great job.

Glad you like the new look. I thought the colours would be nice and relaxing.
Re: Suggestions
Just putting my vote in again to add the ":" to the Space 1999 of the title of this board... it should be Space: 1999.
Also, I notice the forum has slowed down considerably since its initial launch and burst of interest. It is probably time to launch a wave of promotion messages to various groups such as Online Alpha and Gaybase Alpha. Increased visibility should draw in new members, and hopefully increase the amount of people posting.

Re: Suggestions
Thanks Robert. When I originally tried to add the double quotes in the title it wouldn't accept it so tried again just now and just used the ' twice, it seems to have worked! I love all the quirks of the forum!CalgaryAlphan wrote:Just putting my vote in again to add the ":" to the Space 1999 of the title of this board... it should be Space: 1999.

You're right, the forum could do with some promotion. I will contact various people running the Space 1999 related sites and ask them to include a link and to put the word out, and if any members of this forum have contacts then please tell them about the forum and ask them to promote it if they can. Thanks to all of you.

Actually, I wasn't referring to adding quotes ( " ), I was referring to adding the colon ( : ) in the title... but I see the colon is there now, so that's great! Thanks Jeannine!

Re: Suggestions
Another suggestion. It is good to have an edit function to be able and correct typos and such, but the function should also have a record of when such editing took place if it is beyond the first 10 minutes, otherwise threads can be distorted either unintentionally, or intentionally, by a poster who goes back in to change a prior entry.
I would also suggest deleting the quotes around the same of the forum. They are grammatically incorrect in this context, and just look a bit silly. The colon, however, is appreciated.

Re: Suggestions
Is there any manner in which we can have a thread open to the page of the most recent post? Having a given thread open to the first page and then having to either page or jump ahead will become more and more tiresome as the threads lengthen, although it is a commendation to the forum that this problem is arising so soon after its creation.

Yes, good suggestion. I'll look into it.s99fan wrote:Is there any manner in which we can have a thread open to the page of the most recent post? Re: Suggestions
The posts are currently appearing in reverse order, which is very confusing to say the least.

Still looking into it!
Re: Suggestions
Can't seem to sort this out for the moment, but will carry on looking into it. For the moment I would suggest using the 'page 1,2' facility next to the thread to get you to the end of the posts a bit quicker! Will try and sort it out as soon as possible.
Re: Suggestions
Understood. A low priority item, and not to detract from all else that has been accomplished.

Re: Suggestions
Another suggestion. Would it be possible to modify the settings to have a thread open on the last page? It would be easier to page back if one needed to see old posts than it is to always have to page forward or remember to click on the current page number.
