Forbidden Planet

Truly groundbreaking. I liked the idea of a whole planet stuffed with vast engineering works, left derelict when their builders died.
Anyone else?

It looked way more advanced compared to other Sci Fi of the era. Still looks great today. I saw it 1st time age 6 at a double feature with Time machine. My mom had no idea what she had dropped us in for. My sister creide she was sp scared of the invisible Monster. I was pretty well frozen to the chair in terror through most of Time Machine.

No doubt it was a milestone. TOS owes a debt of gratitude to it.

I love that movie. I agree that Star Trek took some of the overall feeling of Forbidden Planet and adapted it to fit the series.
I agree that as a film it still holds up today. As a Sci Fi film, in an era of computer graphics, it still holds up today.
