ok - I'll start the ball rolling.
My favourite piece of Space 1999 memorabilia is my Space 1999 RCA gatefold sleeve LP record of the Year 1 music - signed on the back cover by Martin Landau.
I purchased this on ebay sometime back for a mere £10 !!! Very Happy

Lucky you! I haven't got any memorabilia...yet! I sent a DVD info leaflet to Martin Landau in the hopes that he would sign it but I'm still waiting...Don't know if he answers fan letters.

My collection of Eagles. One of each of the 12" Eagles made by the defunct Product Enterprise, along with their 23" Transporter Eagle.

I don't really collect memorabilia, of any show I like - only stuff of practical value - i.e. DVDs, CDs, books. I have got a Dinky Eagle, which sits on one of my shelves, and all the series 1 novelizations. (The Product Enterprises Eagle was lovely, but I couldn't justify buying it at the price.)

My most prized Space possession is the Network DVD boxset of series 1, because at the end of the day there's nothing better than the episodes themselves. Also the double CD of the series 1 soundtrack.

Yes, the Network set is the current crown jewel of the DVD sets available. The quality is unsurpassed. The Network set is the perfect complement of the Fanderson CD of series one, and I also am proud to have them.

Totally agree, the Network DVD box set is fantastic. The picture quality is superb. I have the Carlton season 2 box set and the quality is nothing like as good. I'm waiting for Network to release the season 2 in a box set (which hopefully they will) and will definitely buy them although I've already got the Carlton ones, solely for the superior picture quaility.

The latest I have seen posted, although not from the official 'Network' site admittedly, is that series two is on indefinite hold due to the poor sales of series one. I hope this is wrong, but I have not seen anything to refute it.

I'm happy enough with the Carlton boxset of series 2. I don't rate the series enough to think about buying it again should a remastered box turn up - unlike series 1. That said, the Carlton release of series 1 was very poor picture quality (although itself light years ahead of the VHS releases) with brightness level, sound and colour errors on certain episodes. The world was crying out for the remastered edition. The series 2 set was not nearly so bad in comparison. I'm not even sure anyone's thought about the need to remaster it.

The second series does look significantly better in both the Carlton and the A&E editions. Still, if Network came out with a remastered series two I would undoubtedly purchase it, completist that I am.

Yes - the Network remastered Year 1 box set is superb and a lot of care and thought obviously went into it - nice colour booklet also plus whole extra dvd of extras - I do hope that a Network Year 2 box set does happen sometime.
My ONLY problem with the Network set is that it does not include subtitles (whereas the Carlton box set does).
Network also did this with The Prisoner box set that I recently purchased.
Anyone know why Network decided on no subtitles, when all other features such as packaging, picture/sound quality, extra features etc are so good ?

Know the feeling there, s99fan - heck - I've even started buying some of the 'German' Zack Space 1999 comics because of the completist bug in me wanting to obtain all Space 1999 comics. Smile

Yes - the Space 1999 Eagles are great memorabilia. Out of all the Eagles ever produced, my favourite Eagle is the GOLD edition Eagle that I managed to purchase some time back on Ebay.

Nothing wrong with being a completist Wink

Whilst the Carlton Dvds are perfectly acceptable in quality, the Network Dvds just contain so many wonderful extras. There are some Space 1999 fans on another forum I'm on and apparently the digital remastering process is taking longer for series 2 than for series one, which is the reason for the hold up but hopefully we will have a series 2 box set from Network at some time in the future.

We will have to agree to disagree here. I find the chrome and gold PE Eagles to be absurd and unrealistic. The presentation boxes make them look, as someone on the Eagle Transporter Forum so eloquently phrased, as if they are laid out for their own funeral. They were the last of all the small 11" Eagle types to be sold out, so it appears my opinion was not isolated.

Good point, s99fan. However, I like the Gold Eagle (and the chrome Eagle for that matter) because of the 'different take / slant' on the original Eagles. bounce

I would also liked to have seen an all black 'slealth Eagle' on the market, but no such luck. I have however purchased a spare Dinky Eagle on ebay sometime back which I might have a go at turning into all black. Not sure of the best method though - spray painting / brush painting / or immersing in a tin of black paint ?

I wish PE had put out a Hawk in scale with their 12" Eagles. The purists found many deficits with the PE Eagles, but for the cost, the 12" line could not be surpassed in value. The rumor is that the owner of PE intensely disliked the Hawk and refused to authorise its creation. Now, the renamed PE, called Sixteen 12 Collectibles, is attempting to create and sell a limited number of 19" Hawks for £500. Even I, one who is not all that critical of small details, can see that the command module in particular is not very Hawk-like.

If I do purchase one, it will most likely be off ebay after the price falls, as I have a strong guess it will given the world-wide recession.

Speaking of which, I've just seen a gold Eagle for sale on ebay.com - see above link - and it's being described as a Dracula Eagle. Have not heard it called that before ! WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE OF SPACE 1999 MEMORABILIA AND WHY ? Icon_lol

Nevertheless, my Gold Eagle still remains the favourite of all the Eagles I have - it just has a certain class and elegance.

$400 USD !?! It will be interesting to see if he gets that much. That seems much higher than what I have seen them go for in the past.

Speaking of Gold Eagles, how about the one on the above link being offered for sale on ebay for £1000 !!!

They have got to be kidding - I only paid around £60 for my Ebay Gold Eagle last year.

Has the value of gold increased that much ??? !!!
Or maybe this Gold Eagle is SOLID gold all the way through !!!

i have one of the eagles that Dinky toys made that i i think came out when the series was first shown. i think it is one of the eagles with the transporter when they transported anything. one of my friends thought the Eagle craft i've got was from Star Trek i had to subtly remind them that it was from Space 1999

Although I adored both my Dinky Eagle Transporter and Freighter, the water pistol stun gun was my ultimate favourite. Without having the benefit of video play back in those days, it seemed fairly accurate unlike the giant sized proportions of the 'projector' toy.
