I purchased DESTINATION MOONBASE ALPHA book written by Robert E. Wood(CalgaryAlphan). It is the most detailed book on the making of Space:1999.

Here is a picture of my latest 'STEALTH EAGLE' - created by taking a spare white Eagle I had and spray painting it black. More coloured Eagles to come - watch this space...

Unless, of course, you found them for 1¢ on a misspelt listing buried deep in another search string.

Following on from the photo of my black Stealth Eagle earlier, here is a photo of my just completed Red Devil Eagle - created by taking another spare white Eagle that I had and spray painting it this time in red. More to follow (when funds allow)... Very Happy

Just purchased a German Space 1999 comic on ebay - Invasion of the Robots. Luckily one of my friends speaks fluent German so might try and get him to kindly translate.

Sadly a further few Space 1999 sunicrust cards that I have not got so far, slipped out of my reach on ebay the other day - selling at around £10 each. There are some serious collectors out there with money - that would make the whole set of 50 cards cost around £500 if that buyer was prepared to pay at least £10 for a single card !!!

Well I agree with Steve and think it would have. A Robot themed title was also used for the novel 'Android Planet'...

I bought a mint set for £400 some time back. However I'm bored with them now and probably will be selling them to finance Christmas!

A very kind person on another forum just sent me the 2 outstanding volumes I was missing to complete my Space 1999 laserdisc collection of 23 volumes (unfortunately 'Bringers of Wonder' never made it to Laserdisc - hence there are only 23 volumes of 2 episodes per volume, not 24 volumes).

I am TOTALLY loving the laserdisc experience - and the sound quality is absolutely superb. But no wonder this technology passed me by back in the 1990's - the laserdisc player I got for under £100 cost £700 back in its day and each of the Space 1999 volumes retailed at around $30 back then (the price tags are still showing on some of the sellophane wrappers on some of the volumes I have) !!!

Yes, I seem to recall the hype about laserdiscs but it's hardly surprising they didn't take off at a cost of £700 for the player! Blimey, that's expensive. Reminds me of the minidisc which never really took off either, don't really know why because I don't think the players were overly expensive. I guess everyone was happy with CDs, so why move onto another form of disc.
