Re: Series 1 on Blu-Ray
The release date of the UK Blu Ray version seems to be gradually getting nearer to Christmas. First I had an email from Amazon a few weeks ago stating revised release date was now Oct 28 to Nov 1, then I get another email yesterday stating revised release date is now Nov 4 to Nov 8 !

Re: Series 1 on Blu-Ray
The difference is like chalk and cheese compared to the A&E dvd version. I do not have a plasma television (only a 50 inch LCD set), but the improvement over the A&E dvd discs is as much as the improvement that lamentable set was over VHS. The difference between Blu-ray and the Network set, which not such an order of magnitude, is still impressive. Yes, you now see more 'wires' and such, but these do not detract any more than the strings seen on the Thunderbirds dvd sets once the magic of the show is in force.
Absolutely worth the investment.

You can, or for the current price on Amazon ($>90 USD) you can also order direct from Network and get a region A/B set with more extras. Your call, but I ordered mine from Network and have had had it in my possession for approx. 2 weeks.

I am not sure it they any longer have the special limited-edition slip cover available. Mine has a colorful planet and Eagles, which nicely covers the generic cover of the set which is all you will get from the US Amazon branch. The UK Amazon division was sending out the limited slip-covers initially, but I do believe they have run out of that stock.

I am European by birth and nationality, but my partner is American and my job allows me to join him in the States.
I am surprised to hear you are having difficulties with Network's site. I have always found it very easy to place orders. It remains your call, but I would email the webmaster and ask for help. The discs are that good.

Alternatively, you could order through Amazon.uk. I am uncertain if they have any more of the limited edition covers, but even if not, you will get the more extensive UK extra features.

Good luck.

Re: Series 1 on Blu-Ray
Does anyone have any comments on the Blu-ray version? I, for one, find it incredible. It is all but like watching the show for the first time. There is a frame-by-frame analysis going on in The Eagle Forum which is bringing new details to life. For example, signage fine print is revealed in all its misspelled glory, and carpets where no carpets should be (for sound deadening, one would guess). Amazing!

I purchased the R2 Blu-ray set and had it sent to me here in the States. The image quality is everything that could be hoped for, and the extras are quite reasonable.

Re: Series 1 on Blu-Ray
well i have my copy of Space 1999 on blu ray so far watched the first disc and the quality is brilliant. the sleeves on the uniforms are the colour they should be same goes for the spacesuits. on the carlton boxset of series one i had everything was dark i.e, the uniforms, the spacesuits. the network blu ray is a vast improvement. the commerative booklet is good as well even though there's a few details wrong as they've got Prentis Hancock's birthday and martin landau's and barbara bains wrong. the only birthday they got right was the late Barry Morse.

Re: Series 1 on Blu-Ray
I was devastated to hear about the Carlton sets having problems before I ever got round to watching them especially Dragon's Domain and the orange sleeves and discolouration effects!
