WHAT IS YOUR LATEST SPACE 1999 PURCHASE ?
Someone on the EagleTransporter forum started a 'What is your latest Gerry Anderson Product purchase ?' so I thought that on this forum, members might like to share their latest Space 1999 product purchase from time to time, so that the rest of us can say 'Wow, that was a bargain' or 'Wow, I want to get one of those' etc etc.
Ok - I'll start the ball rolling - I just purchased some items on ebay that I have never ever heard of or ever seen anywhere else before - ie some Space 1999 Year 1 and 2 soundtracks on cassette - for a bargain price of $1 !!!. Described as including some studio noises and voices from composer, conductor and musicians, I'm looking forward to hearing them and seeing how far they differ from my Fanderson Year 1 double and Fanderson Year 2 double cds. I will let you know in due course...

Re: WHAT IS YOUR LATEST SPACE 1999 PURCHASE ?
Just took delivery of 2 hardback Space 1999 books (dustcovers included) - £5.99 each on ebay (plus free postage) - not bad at all - 'Rogue Planet' and 'Android Planet', the latter of which even still has a library sheet affixed to the inside front with various date stamps stretching way back to 1977.
Even though I have all the Space 1999 paperback novels, my recent purchase of 'Breakaway' in hardback version had started the urge to try also collecting the hardback versions.
So, 3 now obtained and many more to collect !!!

The last items I bought were three different replica uniform patches from an ebay shop, one is the 'VJC' motif seen on the blue pyjamas, another is the large flag worn on the space suits and an 'Eagle 2' circular patch.

Thanks for the tip S99fan, I hadnt seen some of those new designs before.
Oh that Town Mook book is a slice of pure '1999' heaven. Published at a time when there wasnt very much merchandise around to satisfy fans needing a fix of their favourite show. Giving us lots of fab pics to drool over.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR LATEST SPACE 1999 PURCHASE ?
Just received some great black and white photos of Space 1999 characters from a seller on ebay, and because I had purchased quite a few items from and spent quite a bit of money with this seller recently, they also sent me a free extra bonus black and white Space 1999 publicity photo of Martin Landau & Barbara Bain, and added a post it note saying "Here's a free gift ! Happy Christmas."
Isn't it nice to know there are some Ebay sellers out there who really know how to look after regular customers ?
That really made my day

That was really nice of the seller to send you some extra goodies. I'm sure that brought you lots of Christmas cheer Space 1899.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR LATEST SPACE 1999 PURCHASE ?
Just received Convention Booklet for the Space 1999 Convention 1980, held in Columbus, Ohio, from ebay.com for only $1 !!!
Fascinating reading - looks like it was typed on a typewriter - guest speakers listed included Barry Gray, Nick Tate, Martin Landau and Prentis Hancock.
My slowly growing collection of Space 1999 Convention booklets now covers - 1979, 1980 and 1987.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR LATEST SPACE 1999 PURCHASE ?
Just received Space 1999 'Omnia' 1974 board game - purchased for only a few quid on ebay !
'AN ABSORBING GAME OF SPACE ADVENTURE - PLAN AND EXECTUTE THE GREATEST SPACE ADVENTURE OF ALL TIME' as it says on the front of the box lid.
Hopefully I'll be able to pursuade the rest of the family to play the game with me after Christmas lunch tomorrow (well - it will make a change to the usual 'Cluedo' or 'Monopoly')

Nice one Space 1899. I received the Breakaway novel I won on Ebay recently and have just spent an enjoyable hour reading the first few chapters. I haven't read any of the novelisations before and it's quite interesting to see the differences between the novel and the TV episode. I'm liking what I've read so far.
Re: WHAT IS YOUR LATEST SPACE 1999 PURCHASE ?
Then, you are in for a treat when you get to the novel 'Earthfall' by EC Tubb - one of my favourites of all the Space 1999 novels I've read so far - because it contains a lot of differences / alternatives (eg themes of unrest and mutiny) and a lot of extra information not contained in the 'Breakaway' episode - eg more background information regarding John and the woman he was going to marry.Commander Koenig wrote:I received the Breakaway novel I won on Ebay recently and have just spent an enjoyable hour reading the first few chapters. Just received from ebay - a Space 1999 Eagle Transporter completely custom painted with Stone Creations Paint, so that it looks like it has been turned to stone by the evil woman Medussa.
Great addition to my display cabinet collection of Eagles

Re: WHAT IS YOUR LATEST SPACE 1999 PURCHASE ?
Just purchased from ebay last month, one of the blue probes from the episode 'The Last Sunset' from the collection of Phil Rae.
Very pleased with item as I had wanted to own an original screen used prop from Space 1999 for a long time.
